Polar H12 Spotted in Global Regulatory Databases Ahead of Launch

I have some really big news for everyone following sports tech and heart rate sensors. Today, while I was digging deep into international regulatory databases, I stumbled upon official documents for a brand-new, unreleased chest strap heart rate monitor from Polar.

For years, the Polar H10 has been known as the gold standard for chest strap accuracy. However, seeing a new model pop up in global databases suggests that a successor—likely called the Polar H12 is getting very close to release.

Finding the H12 in the Taiwan NCC Database

The first place I found this device was in Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) database under approval certificate number CCAP26LP3510T4. The filings clearly list the equipment as a heart rate sensor from Polar (registered under Polar Electro H.K. Limited) with the model number 6M.

According to the test report issued on August 24, 2026, by Beko Inspection Technology in Taiwan, the hardware is manufactured across Polar’s facilities in both China (Polar Guangzhou Electronics Co., Ltd.) and Malaysia (Polar Electro Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.). Seeing a device pass through NCC testing usually means that wireless testing for Bluetooth and ANT+ connections is complete, which is always a big step before a full public release.

Spotting the Filing in the Mexican Database

Right after finding the Taiwan filing, I searched Mexican regulatory databases and found the same device listed under certificate number CRT26-034118. The official document was issued on September 1, 2026, by CIALTIA, S.A. DE C.V., and is categorized as a “PECTORAL SENSOR” under the same Polar 6M model code.

This second filing is super important because it proves that Polar is not just testing this device in one region. They are actively securing global homologation and government approvals across multiple continents at the same time, which almost always happens right before a worldwide product launch.

Exclusive Pictures and What We Know So Far

This isn’t the only clue we have about the new sensor. Just a few days ago, GarminNews published an exclusive first look at the Polar H12, sharing early photos of the device. Their report broke down the design changes and discussed how this hardware could become the ultimate challenger to Garmin’s HRM-Pro Plus and HRM-Fit sensors.

If you look at the early pictures, the new strap appears to keep Polar’s focus on high accuracy while potentially offering a lower profile, updated electrode placement, and better battery efficiency.

Why This Matters for Athletes

While wrist-based optical heart rate sensors on modern smartwatches have gotten much better, they still struggle with sudden heart rate changes during heavy weightlifting, sprinting, or interval training. Chest straps measure the actual electrical signals from your heart, making them much faster and more accurate.

If Polar is truly preparing to drop the H12, it could bring upgraded Bluetooth multi-device connectivity, improved internal memory for offline workouts, and better ECG accuracy for heart rate variability (HRV) tracking.

We don’t have an official release date or pricing details yet, but once a device starts clearing databases in Taiwan and Mexico, an official announcement is usually right around the corner.
