Yesterday, I published a report after spotting the Suunto Race 3S in Malaysia’s SIRIM database under model number OW265. In that same investigation, I mentioned model OW266, which I had previously found in Singapore’s IMDA database.
At the time, IMDA didn’t list the official marketing name for OW266. Based on Suunto’s typical naming scheme and the appearance of the 3S, I predicted that OW266 had to be the standard Suunto Race 3.
Today, fresh regulatory updates proved that prediction right.
The SIRIM Confirmation
While checking the SIRIM database again today, a brand-new listing appeared under SUUNTO (M) SPORTS TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD.

What This Means
With both watches now passing through regulatory approvals in Southeast Asia, Suunto is clearly getting ready for an official launch.
Having both the Race 3 and Race 3S certified at the same time suggests Suunto will likely announce them together. The “S” model will almost certainly offer a smaller form factor or lighter casing compared to the standard Race 3, similar to previous generations.
Now that the names and model numbers are officially confirmed, the main questions remaining are the hardware specs, display type, and official release date. I will keep monitoring global databases for any further details.
