If you follow my work here on Wearable Fans, you probably know I have been tracking the upcoming Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar very closely. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was the first to spot this new outdoor watch in Asian regulatory databases and tracked its filings over at the FCC.
Now, the puzzle pieces are finally coming together. Recently, the Spanish website Interempresas published a major scoop on the unannounced watch, complete with specs and features, then suddenly deleted the content. Luckily, I managed to capture the details before it went offline.

A New Way to Charge with Two Solar Panels
The biggest surprise about the T-Rex Dual Solar is how it charges. Most solar watches only have a solar panel around the screen on the front.
Amazfit added a second, bigger solar panel on the back of the watch made of ceramic glass. When you take the watch off to rest or eat during a hike, you can flip it over so the back panel faces the sun. This design helps the watch absorb more light to keep the battery charged.
Battery Life That Lasts Up to 180 Days
Battery life is always a big deal for hikers and runners. Under normal use, the watch lasts about 25 days.
If you use the solar panels every day in bright sunlight, you can push that number much higher. In an extreme outdoor mode—where the GPS only updates once an hour—the battery can last up to 40 days. In the best possible sunlight conditions using the rear panel, the total battery life can reach an incredible 180 days.
Tough Design and Bright Screen
The watch is built to handle rough weather. It features a titanium body, physical buttons, and a screen protected by sapphire crystal. It can survive extreme cold and heat, from -30 °C to +70 °C.
The screen is a 1.32-inch AMOLED display that gets super bright at up to 3,000 nits, making it easy to read in direct sunlight. It also comes with a built-in LED flashlight that has a special boost mode for night trips.
Smart Features and Navigation
For outdoor sports, the watch connects to six different satellite systems for accurate GPS tracking and maps right on your wrist. It also tracks your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and training balance, while warning you if the weather or barometric pressure changes suddenly.
Between my early database and FCC findings and this accidental website leak, it is clear that Amazfit is getting ready to launch a serious smartwatch for outdoor lovers. Stay tuned right here for more updates as soon as they drop!
