I have another exciting leak for all the sports tech fans out there! While checking the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) database, I stumbled upon a brand-new registration from Suunto.
It looks like they are finally working on a brand-new heart rate monitor, and I have the first details right here.
If you look at the picture below, you can see the official paperwork I dug up.

Here is exactly what the database shows:
-
Marketing Name: Heart Rate Monitor
-
Model Name: SHRM2
-
Product Type: Bluetooth
-
Application Status: Active

The certificate was officially issued on May 4, 2026, and it is registered under Shift Electronics LLC, which is a major distributor for tech brands in the Middle East region.
Why This Is a Big Deal
Suunto fans know it has been a very long time since the company released a brand-new, dedicated heart rate chest strap. The model name SHRM2 likely stands for “Suunto Heart Rate Monitor 2.”
What makes this timing perfect is that Suunto just released a huge software update last month that added “Heart Rate Broadcasting” from their watches. It is clear they are focusing heavily on how heart rate data connects across different devices right now, and this new hardware is the missing piece of the puzzle.
Because the product type is listed as “Bluetooth” and “Heart Rate Monitor,” it will definitely pair with your Suunto watches, bike computers, and smartphone apps. It is hard to tell from a simple text registration if it will be a traditional chest strap or a trendy optical armband, but the fact that it is clearing regulatory checks means we will find out very soon.
I will be keeping a close eye on additional international databases to see when the first real photos of the SHRM2 leak. Stay tuned to the blog for updates!
