Suunto has officially launched the Suunto Run 2, delivering major hardware upgrades to its popular lightweight running series.

Ultra-Bright 2,000-Nit Display and Lightweight Nordic Design
The Suunto Run 2 retains the ultra-lightweight form factor runners loved in the first generation, weighing in at just 35 grams for the watch body. It features a 46mm case made from glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide paired with a durable stainless steel bezel and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The headline hardware upgrade is the screen. While keeping a 1.32-inch LTPS AMOLED display (466 x 466 pixels), peak brightness jumps up to 2,000 nits—making it three times brighter than the original Suunto Run’s 600-nit panel. This ensures effortless readability under harsh sunlight.
The watch is launching in three colorways: All Black, Feather Gold, and Aloe Green.
Free Offline Maps and Dual-Band GPS Navigation
One of the biggest additions to the Run 2 is support for free worldwide offline maps. Runners can now download detailed map regions directly to the watch and navigate trails or city streets without needing a phone connection.
To back up the mapping capabilities, Suunto upgraded the watch to a new-generation dual-band (L1 + L5) GNSS chipset. It tracks simultaneously across all major satellite constellations—GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS—delivering much better accuracy around tall buildings, dense tree canopies, and mountainous terrain.
Upgraded Heart Rate Sensor and Advanced Training Insights
On the rear casing, Suunto equipped the Run 2 with a redesigned 12-channel optical heart rate sensor set behind 2.5D curved glass. The revised sensor curvature maintains tighter skin contact during high-intensity intervals or heavy sweating for smoother readings.
